About
Soumokil Soundscapes

At Soumokil Soundscapes, everything starts with passion for music and sound. With years of experience as a producer, composer, and sound engineer, I offer mixing, production, composition, arrangement, and sound design, both on-site and remote. My goal is simple: to help you bring your creative vision to life and make your project stand out with sound that feels alive.

What matters most to me is not just the final product, but the process. I want you to look back on our work together with the same excitement and good feeling that I do. For me, building a genuine connection is just as important as delivering professional quality.

Because I’ve been raised in many different musical styles and trained in both the technical and psychological side of sound, I can adapt to a wide range of projects, from songwriting to cinematic scores and lo-fi remixes to detailed sound design and polished mixes. Every project gets its own unique approach, blending musicality, creativity, and precision

The Story of Joey Soumokil

Hi, I’m Joey Soumokil and music has been the red thread in my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up surrounded by all kinds of styles like pop, rock, funk, soul, classical, blues, and later the worlds of anime and game music. That mix gave me a love for versatility. My portfolio is living proof: I’ve written ambient soundscapes, composed for dance and theatre, produced albums, and created lo-fi reinterpretations of the games and anime I love.

With Soumokil Soundscapes, I work on composition, production, mixing, and sound design. I care about process just as much as outcome: music only really comes alive when there’s trust, curiosity, and collaboration.

I’m also one half of Nintenbros; a project where we reimagine iconic game soundtracks in lofi & chill styles. What started as a passion project has grown into more than 200 releases and more than 20,000 monthly listeners on Spotify. For me, it’s a dream come true: combining nostalgia, creativity, and modern sound design to bring game music into new spaces.

Outside of that, I teach music at Montessori Lyceum Gooise Meren. Working with students keeps me sharp and reminds me why music matters. It’s not just entertainment, it’s connection, healing, and self-expression. Having gone through my own battles with depression, I know firsthand the comfort and strength music can offer.

Looking forward, I want to keep exploring everything sound can do: scoring for games and film, writing awesome songs, arranging brilliant works, creating for dance and visual media, and reaching new audiences with lo-fi projects.

Whether it’s in the studio, on stage, or in the classroom, my goal is always the same: to make soundscapes that move people.
